Staff Accountant-Jackson, NJ

Position Overview:
The Staff Accountant will assist in the preparation of financial reports and analysis for Fernmoor’s multifamily development projects.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work with Senior Accountants on the day-to-day accounting for various projects
  • Prepare cost reconciliation and allocation reviews
  • Assist with review of construction billings
  • Review invoice billing and coding
  • Prepare budget to actual variance analysis
  • Prepare month end reconciliations
  • Prepare journal entry adjustments
  • Month end and quarterly close and reporting
  • Preparation of consolidated financial statements
  • Compile information for internal and external auditors
  • Experience preparing GAAP financial statements
  • Work closely with the Fernmoor teams: Construction, Design, Development, Finance, Tax and Legal, as well as any third-party entities
  • Update management as necessary
  • Assist with special projects


  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience with a real estate development or construction company strongly preferred
  • Public accounting experience, a plus
  • Highly intelligent with excellent analytical skills

Maintenance Technician-Mount Holly, NJ

Position Overview:

Seeking an exceptional maintenance technician for apartment community in Mount Holly, NJ. Previous experience working in Property Management A MUST. Ideal candidate should have 2+ years as a maintenance technician and possess a strong knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, electrical, appliance repairs, drywall repair, painting, grounds keeping, cleaning/housekeeping, snow removal, and customer service. 231 units over 11 buildings with an additional 96 units to come.

Primary Responsibilities:

The following responsibilities of the maintenance technician is not limited to the job specifications contained herein. Additional duties or job functions that can be performed safely will be required as deemed necessary by supervisory personnel. Candidate will be responsible for apartment turns. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. easily and regularly.

Plumbing: includes the repair, replacement or installation of faucets, pipes, toilets.

Electrical: includes the repair, replacement or installation of power switches, fuses, wall sockets, ceiling fans, light fixtures, etc. Drywall repair: includes filling in small holes to repairing damaged walls.

Painting: includes minor touch-ups following damage repair and new coats of paint applied to unit walls between the time a tenant vacates a unit and a new renter assumes occupancy.

Appliance repair: includes the repair, replacement or installation of major household appliances, such as refrigerators, range ovens, dishwashers, microwaves, and air conditioners.

Daily groundskeeping: includes parking areas and tidying up community.

Cleaning/housekeeping: includes maintaining a tidy appearance; such as cleaning kitchen appliances, countertop, bathroom/s, fixtures before new renters assume occupancy.

Snow removal: includes shoveling, snow plowing, blowing snow away from covered walkways and laying down rock salt on top of icy surfaces to prevent slipping.

Customer service: includes professional, prompt and courteous correspondence with renters when providing maintenance services, and with contracted vendors that provide additional facility services.

Time management: includes maintaining an organized scheduling and to effectively complete all maintenance requests in a timely manner and in the order by which they were received or by level of urgency as decided by Maintenance Supervisor. Maintaining detail logs of work to assure proper completion in a timely manner.

Tech savvy: must be able to use Microsoft Office and property management software programs.


Previous experience working in Property Management A MUST. Ideal candidate should have 2+ years as a maintenance technician and possess a strong knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, electrical, appliance repairs, drywall repair, painting, grounds keeping, cleaning/housekeeping, snow removal, and customer service.

Maintenance Manager-Absecon, NJ

Position Overview:

In this full time position, you will be responsible for ensuring the physical aspects of the community meet both the company standards and applicable laws. As the maintenance manager, you’ll manage, develop, and mentor you team in diagnosing problems and making repairs, always providing excellent customer service and communication skills. You will provide expert knowledge and trouble-shooting in areas such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, carpentry, dry walling, exterior structure, and appliance. Additionally, you’ll be accountable for establishing and preparing a 24 hour on-call schedule for your team, and you must personally be available at all times in the event of snow and ice or other on-site emergencies. At build-out, community will consist of 400 units over 16 buildings.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead a team of highly qualified Maintenance Technicians through diagnosing problems and providing a resolution.
  • Mentor and Train maintenance technicians to increase their overall knowledge base and skill-set.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills needed to partner with office staff to provide exceptional service and follow-up to our residents on any maintenance issues that may arise.


  • Previous job experience: Property Maintenance, Contractors (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, general, painters, etc.), Construction workers, hotel management maintenance.
  • HVAC certification and/or Boiler’s License a plus.
  • Previous managerial experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license along with good driving record and auto insurance is required.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 1-3 year(s) related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
